What is caramel sauce?
Classic caramel sauce is made by caramelizing granulated sugar (with no water) then carefully adding warm cream. Although delicious, this method takes time and patience; two things I don’t always have. When I need a quick caramel sauce, I make the easy version described below. Store extra sauce in the refrigerator. If it gets too thick, simply heat for a few seconds in the microwave.

How to use caramel sauce
In addition to sundaes, caramel sauce is a great accompaniment to my delicious stuffed, baked cinnamon apples.
