A Gift of Cookies: Book Now Available for Purchase!
Well the day has finally arrived! My first-ever cookbook. A Gift Of Cookies: Recipes to Share with Family & Friends is here! If you pre-ordered a copy, you should be receiving it shortly; and if you haven’t, it’s now available to purchase!
The 304-page volume includes over 130 of my absolute favorite cookie recipes, as well as a ton of handy tips and information to help with your own baking journey. The pages are full of gorgeous photography, easy-to-follow instructions, as well as personal tales about the travels, family members, friends, and cherished memories that have helped form my approach to baking.
The recipes feature a wide range of styles, from my beloved biscotti to easy-to-make drop cookies and even step-by-step instructions for making a variety of delicious macarons.
There’s also a special deluxe version that comes in a beautiful presentation box with a ribbon closure, and the book features a special padded cover with gilded edges, making for a truly lovely gift package.
A Passion Project Inspired by Family and Friends
The impetus for this book came from a dynamic trio of inspirations:
My daughters, who said they imagined receiving all of my recipes collected together as a gift,
then my dear friend Maureen saw something magical in my cookies and the stories behind them.
And finally, my Argentinian sister Alejandra encouraged me to write these recipes down and have them collected and bound to be shared with bakers near and far.
The process of making the book has been a long and fascinating one; I’ve greatly enjoyed working with my editors, designers, and photographers in helping to assemble the recipes and stories that have really formed my baking experience. My goal was to express the joy I get from creating a gift of tasty treats for those that are near and dear to me, and I hope this book will help you do the same for the loved ones in your life.
A gift that continues to give
One thing that I love about cookies is how they can evoke the memories of comfort and warmth of childhood. Unfortunately, not every child gets to experience that warmth and comfort, which is why I’ve become passionate about helping two wonderful Chicago-area children’s charities: Hephzibah Children’s Association and the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society. To that end, I’m delighted to announce that I will be donating all proceeds from sales of my cookbook to these amazing and vital organizations.
You can learn more about my connection to and work with these institutions here. I hope this will help provide greater motivation for you to get the book, and spread the gift even further.
