Shop & Sip: Scones, Clotted Cream, and my Signature Kitchen Collection
In addition to high tea, we’ll have a pop-up shop featuring my Mary DiSomma luxury kitchen wares, and Todd & Holland will be offering a generous discount on their scones and clotted cream. What will you find at my boutique pop-up shop?
My gorgeous nesting ceramic measuring cups and measuring spoons, colorfully embroidered linen napkins; my functional and decorative pot holder and oven mitt set, along with luxurious matching aprons and tea towels—which you’ll also have a chance to win. And, of course, my personal favorite: My handmade, artisanal, cognac-barrel-aged Madagascar vanilla extract.
These items from my luxury kitchen collection will make fantastic holiday gifts for the chefs and home cooks in your life. I carefully and meticulously designed each product to bring a little extra beauty into the kitchen and make cooking more joyful. If you’ve been waiting to see some of these items in person before purchasing, this is the perfect opportunity.
A Gift of Cookies: Recipes to Share with Family and Friends
I’ll also be signing my cookies-only cookbook, A Gift of Cookies: Recipes to Share with Family & Friends. 100% of the proceeds from cookbook sales go to charity. Whether you already have a copy or you want to grab one just in time for the holidays, this is the perfect opportunity to bring it in for an autograph! Learn more about the charities I donate to near the bottom of this page.
Take home a set of designer cotton tea towels—on me!
Yes, it’s true—take home a set of my incredibly gorgeous tea towels when you make a purchase at this high tea event. Sign up for my newsletter in person that day and you’ll be entered into a drawing for the tea towels, too. Whether you win the drawing or not, it’s a win: You’ll get delicious recipes delivered straight to your inbox, plus exclusive bonus recipes that are guaranteed to impress.
Todd & Holland, Purveyors of the World’s Finest Teas
I’m so excited to see you all on Saturday—but don’t show up just for me. Todd & Holland alone is worth the visit. The shop’s founder (and my good friend), Bill Todd, remembers the first time he tasted a robust, aromatic tea whose flavor he didn’t want to drown out with sugar. He loved it so much that he studied until he became an expert in tea.
Today, Bill, Janet, and Marianne still travel around the world to find and taste the world’s best teas—and bring them home to share with you. Their Forest Park shop is so quaint and charming that you might just feel like you’re in another world, too.
Cookies for the Greater Good: The Children’s Charities of Oak Park and River Forest
All of the proceeds from my cookbook are always donated to Hephzibah Children’s Association and The Infant Welfare Society.
The Hephzibah Children’s Association is Oak Park’s oldest social services agency, offering group homes for abused and neglected children, child welfare and family services, foster care and adoption programs, and award-winning daycare on a sliding scale.
The Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society’s mission is to provide a continuum of integrated, quality, and preventive health care services to children and their families, enabling them to lead healthy and productive lives from within safe environments.
