Holiday Housewalk & Market with the Infant Welfare Society and Local Cookbook Author Mary DiSomma
Grab some friends and family for Oak Park’s kick-off holiday event of the year!
The Holiday House Walk & Market by the Infant Welfare Society is back—and it’s one of my favorite holiday events in Oak Park. I’m joining in with a book signing, a pie tasting, and a raffle for a chance to win my new cookbook and signature kitchen collection.
When: December 6, 2024 from 3pm-7pm p.m. to 7 p.m., and December 7, 2024, from 10am-4pm
Where: The Infant Welfare Society Children’s Clinic at 28 Madison Street, Oak Park, IL. We'll be on the 2nd floor.
Join us on December 6th and 7th to tour six beautifully decorated homes in Oak Park and River Forest, complete with custom arrangements by local florists and gorgeous holiday “tablescapes.” If you read my “Tips for Setting a Perfectly Pretty Thanksgiving Table” article a couple years ago, you’ll know how excited I am to see these. And what a perfect opportunity to gather creative inspiration for your own holiday spreads!
I’ll be at the children’s clinic both days for special events—I can’t wait to see you there!
Friday, December 6: Holiday Market & Book Signing
Join me at the Holiday Market, where you can get copies of A Gift of Cookies: Recipes to Share with Family & Friends AND my latest cookbook, My Life in Pies: Sweet and Savory Recipes Inspired by Family and Friends. These cookbooks make perfect holiday gifts that also support a worthy cause! I’ll be signing books from 4 to 6 pm, and 100% of the proceeds will go straight to the Infant Welfare Society Children’s Clinic.
Market Hours: 3–7 pm
Book Signing: 4–6 pm
Saturday, December 7: A Taste of the Holidays with Mary DiSomma

For this taste-of-the-holidays experience, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite recipes from My Life in Pies, along with personal stories from my baking journey. Each guest will enjoy an allspice cookie, an empanada, and a refreshing Espresso Peppermint Mocktini.

Make this holiday season memorable by making a difference in children’s lives.
The Holiday House Walk & Market is about more than just festivities—it’s about giving back. I personally am humbled and honored to support the Infant Welfare Society Children’s Clinic, a local organization dedicated to providing vital care to children and families in need. 100% of the proceeds from my cookbooks always go to local children’s charities, and proceeds from this event will support the mission of Infant Welfare Society Children’s Clinic in Oak Park.
Come for the festive decor, stay for the treats, and leave with gifts that make a difference. See you there! To learn more about the Holiday House Walk itself, click the button below.
