Football is more than just a game in this household; it's a cherished tradition that brings people together and creates lasting memories. To me, football season is a reminder of the simple pleasures of life—bringing family and friends together to share good food. My easy deviled eggs recipe is perfect with a Bloody Mary, and it’s even more perfect for sharing.
When you incorporate classic Bloody Mary ingredients into the filling, your deviled eggs have a distinctive and flavorful kick—they’ll be even more beloved than your typical deviled eggs (believe it or not)!
Can you make deviled eggs ahead of time?
This recipe is a great choice for game day because you can make the filling ahead of time and store it in an airtight container. Just assemble your deviled eggs day-of, right before your guests arrive. Set these Bloody Mary deviled eggs out early as a fun appetizer that will surprise your guests and tantalize their taste buds!
Master Your Technique: How to Make Deviled Eggs
Here are some tips to make these unique deviled eggs pop in your game day spread.
Use a hand mixer for smooth filling.
To ensure your deviled egg filling is smooth and creamy, use an electric mixer. If you don’t have one, don’t worry—you can mash the yolks thoroughly with a fork and blend in the mayonnaise and other ingredients until it’s nice and smooth. Some home chefs swear that adding a few drops of pickle juice can also improve the creamy texture—but be careful. Only add a drop or two if you try this (too much liquid can make the egg filling too soft to pipe).
How to Serve Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs
The morning of your gathering, simply pipe the filling into the cooked egg whites and garnish. This method saves time and allows you to enjoy the party without last-minute preparations. When you arrange them on the table, consider adding a DIY garnish tray. This allows your guests to customize their eggs the way they would a Bloody Mary (especially since some Bloody Mary toppings can be points of contention)!
How long are deviled eggs good for?
I doubt your guests will have trouble finishing these delicious deviled eggs, but in case they do, your deviled eggs will remain tasty and safe to eat for up to 2 days after preparation. Store leftover deviled eggs in the refrigerator in an airtight container to prevent them from drying out. Before eating perishable leftovers like eggs, always be safe and check for any signs of spoilage, such as an off smell, discoloration, or an unusual texture, before serving. If any of these signs are present, it’s best to discard them. Time to make another batch!

Some other game day favorites at my house are Billy’s Hot Giardiniera —a delicious Italian relish you can put on top of anything, Auntie Norma’s Chicken Salad for a great finger food option, and for dessert, how about a Chocolate Chip and Sea Salt Caramel Skillet Cookie?
Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 dozen large eggs
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
- ¼ teaspoon celery seed
- ¼ Dijon mustard
- A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce or a bloody Mary seasoning like Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasoning
- Several good dashes of Tabasco, to taste!
- ½ cup finely diced red tomatoes
- ¼ cup diced celery
- 4 pimiento-stuffed green olives, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of your favorite vodka
- Celery fronds
- Fresh dill
Instructions
- Start by hard boiling your eggs. You can do this a day ahead and refrigerate them but peel them right before you want to finish and serve the recipe. Put the eggs in a large saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by 1 inch. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer the eggs for 9 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let rest in the water for 5 minutes, then remove them and place them in a strainer over the sink. Rinse with cool water, then peel them by running each under cool water while peeling.
- Cut the eggs in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place in a mixing bowl. Set the egg white halves on a platter or deviled egg dish. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator.
- Using a fork or potato masher, mash the yolks to a smooth consistency. Add the mayonnaise, salt, horseradish, celery seed, Dijon mustard, Bloody Mary seasoning or Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco to taste. You can combine everything with a spatula or if you want the mixture to be smoother, just use a handheld mixer to lightly whip until incorporated.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine all of the topping ingredients.
- Place the egg yolk mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a star or large round tip. Pipe each egg with a swirl of the egg yolk mixture.
- Top each with some of the topping mixture. If desired, garnish each egg with a celery frond or chopped fresh dill.
